4. When replacing an existing gateway, tap the Accounticon in the upper-left corner of the Overviewtab, as the activation might not start immediately.
5. Select Activate XFi gateway or modem.
6. Locate and scan the QR code that's on the bottom or side of your gateway.
7. Alternatively, enter the 12-digit CM MAC number when using your modem.
8. Ensure the gateway is powered up and the coaxial cable is connected.
9. Create a new Wi-Fi name and password. Then, wait 5 to 10 minutes while Xfinity sets up and activates the device.

Activate your gateway through the Xfinity portal

1. Look for your network's name (SSID) in the list of available Wi-Fi networks (written on your gateway device).
2. Click or tap your network's name.
